A solution of benzamide (1-135) in DMF-DMA was stirred for 3 h at 110° C., then cooled to rt. The solid was collected by filtration, the filter cake washed with PE and air dried to give the desired (E)-N-((dimethylamino)methylene)benzamide (compound II-135).
