To a stirred solution of 4-(8-amino-3-cyclobutyl-imidazo[1,5-a]pyrazin-1-yl)-3,6-dihydro-2H-pyridine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (300 mg, 1.12 mmol) in 1,4-dioxane (5 mL) was added HCl (4M solution in dioxane, 10 ml) at 10° C. The resulting mixture was stirred at rt. for 3 hr. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure and the resulting residue was used for next step without any further purification. MS (ES+): m/z: 270.13 [MH+], HPLC: tR=1.62 min (OpenLynx, polar—5 min).
