A solution of 2,6-dichloro-4-iodobenzoic acid (65 mg, 0.21 mmol) in SOCl2 (3 mL) was heated to reflux under nitrogen atmosphere overnight and then cooled to room temperature. The reaction was conentrated under reduced pressure to afford 2,6-dichloro-4-iodobenzoyl chloride (70 mg, 100% yield).
