Reaction Steps

Palladium on carbon (335 mg; 10% Pd/C) was added to a solution of the product of Step 1 (1.4 g, 3.15 mmol) in methanol (30 mL) and the resulting mixture was stirred under hydrogen (balloon) for 1 hour. LC-MS analysis showed the reaction was complete. The reaction mixture was filtered and the filtrate was concentrated under vacuum to afford the title compound as an oil which was used without purification in the next step.
