To tert-butyl 4-((3-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-yl)pyridin-2-yl)oxy)piperidine-1-carboxylate (3.2 g, 8.8 mmol) was added 4 M HCl in MeOH (100 mL). The solution was stirred at room temperature for 2 hours. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure to give the title compound (2 g, 9.8 mmol, yield 95%). ESI-MS (M+1): 263 calc. for C15H22N2O2 262.
