Ethyl (1S,3S,4S,5S,6R)-5,6-dihydroxy-2-[(1R)-1-phenylethyl]-2-azabicyclo[2.2.2]octane-3-carboxylate obtained in Example 1-1 (4.2 g) was dissolved in methanol (10 mL), and 10% Pd(OH)2—C (800 mg) was added to the solution. The mixture was hydrogenated under H2 (4.0 atm) at room temperature for 2 hrs.
