To a solution of tert-butyl (1S,3S,4S,5R)-3-{[(2S)-2-cyano-1-pyrrolidinyl]carbonyl}-5-hydroxy-2-azabicyclo[2.2.2]octane-2-carboxylate obtained in Example 2-7 (2.0 g) in dioxane (10 mL), was added 4N HCl in dioxane (1.43 mL) at room temperature.
