Reaction Steps
To a dry flask containing 4-amino-piperidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (5.0 g; 1.2 eq) and 3-bromobenzonitrile (3.79 g; 1.0 eq) in dry toluene (80 mL) was added BINAP (390 mg; 0.03 eq), palladium acetate (94 mg; 0.02 eq) and sodium tert-butoxide (2.8 g; 1.4 eq).
