A solution was made containing e.g. 1-tert-Butyl 2-methyl (2S,4EZ)-4-(methoxyimino)-1,2-pyrrolidinedicarboxylate (0.892 g, 3.28 mmol), in anhydrous DCM (28 ml). TFA (20%, 7 mL) was added dropwise. The mixture was stirred at r.t. for 20 min. Solvents were evaporated and the desired product, e.g. methyl (2S,4EZ)-4-(methoxyimino)-2-pyrrolidinecarboxylate (0.564 g, quant.) was isolated as a yellow oil and used without further purification.
