(1R*,2S*)-N,N-Bis(tert-butoxycarbonyl)-4-[(1-ethoxycarbonyl)cyclopropan-1-yl]amino-1,2-cyclohexanediamine (Stereoisomer A) (1.34 g) was dissolved in dichloromethane (20 ml), a saturated ethanol solution (20 ml) of hydrochloric acid was added, and the mixture was stirred for 90 minutes. The solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure to obtain (1R*,2S*)-4-[(1-ethoxycarbonyl)cyclopropan-1-yl]amino-1,2-cyclohexanediamine hydrochloride (Stereoisomer A) (1.07 g) as a colorless solid.
