Procedure

A solution of p-tosyl chloride (91.17 mg) in acetone (1.6 mL) was added drop-wise to a mixture of intermediate 11b (161 mg) in acetone (3.2 mL) and 5% sodium carbonate solution (3.2 mL) under a Nitrogen atmosphere. The mixture was stirred for 15 minutes at room temperature then it was heated to reflux for 45 minutes.
