To a solution of 6.3 g. (0.02 mole) of 2-(4-cyanopiperazin-1-yl)-4-amino-6,7-dimethoxyquinazoline in 75 ml. of diethyleneglycol dimethyl ether is added dropwise over 15 minutes a solution of 1.8 g. (0.02 mole) n-butyl mercaptan in 25 ml. of the same solvent. The resulting mixture is stirred at 20°-25° C. for 2 hours, then the solvent is removed in vacuo. The residue is triturated with ethyl ether, filtered and dried to obtain the title compound.
