Procedure

Following the procedure of Example 16, but sutstituting 4-(m-tolyl)-4-dimethylaminocyclohexanone ethylene ketal hydroiodide for the 4-(o-tolyl)-4-dimethylaminocyclohexanone ethylene ketal hydroiodide there is obtained the 4-(m-tolyl)-4-dimethylaminocyclohexanone hydroiodide salt in 75% yield after recrystallization from methylene chloride:ethyl acetate; m.p. 172°-174.5° C.
