A solution of 12.2 gm (0.1 mol) of N-benzyl-methylamine in 50 ml of dioxane was slowly poured, while stirring, to a suspension of 15.9 gm (0.05 mol) of 2,8-dichloro-4-(1-oxido-thiomorpholino)-pyrimido-[5,4-d]-pyrimidine in about 250 ml of dioxane, and the resulting mixture was heated at 30°-40° C. for about 30 minutes. After taking up the reaction mixture in about 1 liter of water, the reaction product was obtained as a pale yellow precipitate which, after some standing, was suction filtered off, washed with water and dried at about 60° C.
