2-[N-(3-aminopropyl)-N-methylamino]pyridine (0.66 g) and 2-methylthio-5-(3,4-dichlorobenzyl)pyrimid-4-one (1.0 g) were heated together under reflux in pyridine (2.5 ml) for 24 hr. After stripping, the residue was recrystallised three times from ethanol/water to give 2-[3-(N-methyl-N-pyrid-2-ylamino)propylamino]-5-(3,4-dichlorobenzyl)pyrimid-4-one 0.25H2O, 1.0 g (70%) mp 104°-6° C.
