A THF:H2O (2 mL, 3:1) solution of 2,2-dimethyl-3-((R)-3-((S)-1-(4-(1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridin-3-yl)phenyl)ethyl)-2-oxo-6-phenyl-1,3-oxazinan-6-yl)propanenitrile (55 mg, 0.12 mmol), acetamide (177 mg, 3 mmol) and PdCl2 (21 mg, 0.12 mmol) was stirred overnight. The solvent was removed and the crude material redissolved in CH3CN. The crude product was purified via prep HPLC to afford 2,2-dimethyl-3-((R)-3-((S)-1-(4-(1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridin-3-yl)phenyl)ethyl)-2-oxo-6-phenyl-1,3-oxazinan-6-yl)propanamide (28 mg).
