Procedure

To a cold (0° C.) solution of (2R,5S,7R)-N8-{(1R)-1-[3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]ethyl}-7-(4-fluoro-2-methylphenyl)-N8-methyl-1,8-diazaspiro[4.5]decane-2,8-dicarboxamide (Example 3, 16.9 mg) in Diethyl ether (1 mL) was added dropwise 1N HCl in Diethyl ether (0.039 mL, 0.039 mmol) and the reaction mixture was stirred for 30 mins. The solvent was evaporated to dryness to give the title compound (18.1 mg) as a white solid.
