A stirring solution of {1-[(5-chloro-2,4-dimethoxy-phenylcarbamoyl)-methyl]-2,4-dioxo-1,4-dihydro-2H-pyrido[3,2-d]pyrimidin-3-yl}-acetic acid tert-butyl ester (Intermediate R) (22.1 mg, 0.044 mmol) in DCM (1 ml) is treated with TFA (1 ml). The reaction mixture is stirred at RT and monitored by HPLC/LCMS until the starting material is consumed. After 3 hours, the reaction mixture is diluted with a minimal amount of DCM and concentrated in vacuo. The residue is taken up in a minimal amount of MeOH, concentrated in vacuo, the again in a minimal amount of EtOAc and concentrated in vacuo to afford the title compound as an off white solid; [M+H]+ 449
