Procedure

To a stirred mixture of 1-(5-(methoxymethoxy)-2-(trifluoromethyl)pyridin-4-yl)ethanol (3.2 g, 13 mmol) and NaHCO3 (3.2 g, 38 mmol) in DCM (100 ml) was added Dess Martin Periodinane (5.9 g, 14 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at rt in 16 h, the solid was filtered, the filtrate was concentrated, then taken up and stirred in ether/EtOAc.
