A solution of 1,1-dimethylethyl 7-[6-(1H-imidazol-2-yl)pyridin-3-yl]-2,3-dihydro-1,4-benzoxazepin-4(5H)-carboxylate (50 mg, 0.13 mmol) in a mixture of methanol (2 mL) and 4N hydrochloric acid in dioxane (2 mL) was refluxed for 5 min. After cooling to room temperature and the reaction mixture was concentrated. The residue was then concentrated from chloroform (3×) and dried to give crude 7-[6-(1H-imidazol-2-yl)pyridin-3-yl]-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1,4-benzoxazepine.
