According to the procedure described for the synthesis of intermediate 2-(4-cyclopentyl-piperazin-1-yl)-pyridin-3-ylamine was synthesized from 1-cyclopentyl-4-(5-nitro-pyridin-2-yl)-piperazine through hydrogenation to yield 98% of the title compound as colorless crystals. (m/e): 247.1 (MH+; 100%).
