A solution of 6-{4-[2-(5-Chlorothieno[2,3-d]pyrimidin-4-ylamino)ethyl]phenoxy}pyridine-3-carbaldehyde (0.2 g, 0.5 mmol) and methoxylamine hydrochloride (0.2 g, 2.5 mmol) in ethanol (10 mL) was heated at reflux for 1 hour. After cooling, the reaction was diluted with water and the solid collected by filtration and air dried affording product, 0.17 g, 0.4 mmol, 77 percent yield.
