To 1-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-7-oxo-6-[4-(2-oxo-piperidin-1-yl)-phenyl]-4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-c]pyridine-3-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (0.1, 0.2 mmol) in THF (15 mL) at 0° C. was added MeMgBr (0.21 mL, 0.6 mmol) and the reaction was stirred at rt for 24 h. The reaction was quenched with water and purified by HPLC to afford 47 mg (48%) of a white solid; Mass Spec (M+H)+ 475.
