1 g (4.32 mmol) of 2-(1,3-benzothiazol-2-yl)-5-methyl-2,4-dihydro-3H-pyrazol-3-one and 1.97 g (12.96 mmol) of 4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde are stirred under reflux with the addition of 3 ml of piperidine in absolute ethanol for 2 hours. The mixture is then diluted with water and the orange-yellow precipitate is filtered off, then washed with water and a small amount of cold methanol and dried under reduced pressure.
