PROCEDURE

The compound (589 mg, 1.58 mmol) obtained in Step 1 was dissolved in a mixture of acetonitrile (30 ml) and water (10 ml), to which was added CAN (1.38 g, 2.52 mmol) and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour. The reaction mixture was poured into water and was extracted with ether. After the extract was washed with water and dried, the solvent was distilled off. The residue was purified by a silica gel column chromatography (5% methanol-methylene chloride) to yield the title compound (452 mg, 1.32 mmol, yield 84%).
