Reaction Steps

5 g (13.4 mmole) of 4-isopropoxydinaphtho[2.1-d:1′,2′-f][1,3,2]dioxaphosphepine (rac.-binaphthylisopropyl phosphlte) are dissolved in dichloromethane in a round-bottom flask and 0.44 g (0.45 mmole) of copper(I) chloride is added in a stream of argon. After stirring for 30 minutes the solvent is removed in vacuo.
