0.94 g of 1-[2-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-2-(4-methylpiperazino)ethyl]-4-(4-naphthalen-1-yl-butyl)piperazine was dissolved in 5.0 ml of ethanol, 5.0 ml of an ethanol solution of 0.56 g of maleic acid was added, followed by being allowed to stand for 2 hours. The precipitated crystals were collected by filtration and washed with ethanol to give 1.24 g of 1-[2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-2-(4-methylpiperazino)ethyl]-4-(4-naphthalen-1-yl-butyl)piperazine trimaleate as crystals.
