Procedure

0.13 g of 1-[2-(4-Fluorophenyl)-2-(4-isopropylpiperazino)ethyl]-4-(4-naphthalen-1-yl-butyl)piperazine was dissolved in 1.5 ml of ethanol, and 1 ml of an ethanol solution of 0.11 g of maleic acid was added, followed by allowing to stand for 2 hours. The precipitated crystals were collected by filtration and washed with ethanol to give 0.18 g of 1-[2-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-(4-isopropylpiperazino)ethyl]-4-(4-naphthalen-1-yl-butyl)piperazine trimaleate as crystals.
