The organic phase was washed with solutions of sodium hydrogen sulphate and sodium carbonate and dried. After evaporation of the solvent, 242 g of N-(2-chloroacetyl)pyrrolidine were obtained. 1.64 moles of this compound were dissolved in 500 ml of toluene and 231 ml of triethylamine were added.
