Step AA (6): To a solution of (1RS,2RS)-2-(allyloxy)-1-azido-6-methoxy-2,3-dihydro-1H-indene from Step AA (5) (71 mg) in THF (4 mL) at rt was added LiAlH4 (33 mg), and the resulting suspension was stirred at rt for 10 min. Five crystals of Na2SO4.10H2O was added followed by anhydrous sodium sulfate, and the reaction mixture was stirred at rt for 30 min and filtered through a pad of Celite. The filtrate was evaporated in vacuo to give the title compound as a slightly yellowish oil (53 mg). retention time: 1.31 min (method A). MS (ESI) (M+H)+ 220.15.
