A solution of (5R)-5-(2,2-dimethyl-4H-1,3-benzodioxin-6-yl)-3-{6-[2-{(3-nitro-phenyl)methoxy}ethoxy]hexyl}-1,3-oxazolidin-2-one (9.50 g) in EtOAc (120 ml) and EtOH (120 ml) was hydrogentated over platinum oxide (0.20 g) for 1.75 h. The mixture was filtered through celite and washed with EtOH. Solvent evaporation in vacuo gave the title compound (9.60 g). LCMS RT=3.25 min, ES+ve 499 (MH)+.
