Reaction Steps

To a stirred solution of 5-(2-cyclopropylethylcarbamoyl)-3′,6′-dihydro-2′H-[2,4′]bipyridinyl-1′-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (0.338 g, 0.910 mmol) in dichloromethane (10 mL) was added trifluoroacetic acid (0.7 mL). The resulting mixture was stirred at room temperature for 6 hours and then quenched with a saturated aqueous solution of Na2CO3 (5 mL). The organic phase was washed with water (10 mL), saturated NaCl (10 mL), dried over MgSO4 and then concentrated in vacuo. The crude title compound was obtained and used without further purification.
