A mixture of (R)-[4-(3-cyano-1-cyclopropyl-6-hydroxy-1H-indol-2-yl)-phenyl]-carbamic acid 1-cyclopropyl-ethyl ester (0.060 g, 0.15 mmol), Cs2CO3 (0.122 g, 0.375 mmol), 2-chloropyrimidine (0.034 g, 0.3 mmol) in DMF (1.5 mL) was stirred at 70° C. for 2 h. After cooling to room temperature the mixture was poured into water (15 mL) and the precipitate was collected via filtration, washed with water, and purified on silica gel (CH2Cl2/EtOAc, 9.5:0.5) to provide (R)-{4-[3-cyano-1-cyclopropyl-6-(pyrimidin-2-yloxy)-1H-indol-2-yl]-phenyl}carbamic acid 1-cyclopropyl-ethyl ester as a solid (72 mg, 100%).
