Procedure
To a solution of 4-{[N-((1R)-1-carbamoyl-3-methyl-butyl)-N-(4-chlorobenzenesulfonyl)amino]-methyl}-piperidine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (Example 92, 2.6 grams, 5.2 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (25 mL) was added trifluoroacetic acid (10 mL). The reaction was stirred at rt for 1 h and then was concentrated to give a white solid (1.6 grams, 84%). MS (ESI), (M+H)+ 402.15; 1H NMR (DMSO-d6, 500 MHz), δ 7-87 (d, 2H, J=8.5), 7.66 (d, 2H, J=8.6), 7.41 (s, 1H), 7.04 (s, 1H), 4.17 (t, 1H, J=7.3), 3.40-3.50 (m, 1H), 3.20-3.25 (m, 1H), 3.03-3.10 (m, 1H), 2.65-2.80 (m, 2H), 1.85-2.00 (m, 1H), 1.20-1.85 (m, 2H), 1.45-1.60 (m, 1H), 1.30-1.40 (m, 1H), 1.10-1.30 (m, 4H), 0.75-0.90 (m, 1H), 0.82 (d, 3H, J=7.3), 0.80 (d, 3H, J=7.0).
