To a solution of 3-{2-fluoro-4-[({4′-[(4-hydroxy-1,1-dioxidotetrahydro-2H-thiopyran-4-yl)methoxy]-2′,6,6′-trimethylbiphenyl-3-yl}methyl)amino]phenyl}propanoic acid (57.0 mg, 0.10 mmol) in methanol (1 mL) was added 1 M aqueous sodium hydroxide solution (0.10 mL). Successively, an aqueous solution of calcium chloride (6.2 mg, 0.05 mmol) was gradually added. The precipitated solid was collected by filtration, washed with water and vacuum dried to give the title compound (32.2 mg, yield 55%) as a colorless amorphous powder.
