To a solution of 5-(2-chloro-6-fluorophenyl)-2-(4-iodophenyl)-2,4-dihydro-3H-1,2,4-triazol-3-one (step-4 of Intermediate-2, 0.100 g, 0.242 mmol) in toluene (5.0 mL) was added 3-(trifluoromethyl)aniline (0.076 g, 0.292 mmol), NaOtBu (0.035 g, 0.360 mmol), tris(dibenzylideneacetone)dipalladium(0) (0.022 g, 0.024 mmol) and 9,9-dimethyl-4,5-bis(diphenylphosphino)xanthene (0.021 g, 0.036 mmol). The reaction mixture was refluxed for 12 h. The reaction mass was quenched in water and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was dried over anhydrous sodium sulphate and concentrated.
