Tert-butyl(6bR,10aS)-5-(4-methoxy-2-methylphenyl)-1,2,6b,9,10,10a-hexahydro[1,4]oxazino[2,3,4-hi]pyrido[4,3-b]indole-8(7H)-carboxylate (0.16 g, 73%) was prepared by the general method of Example 89, step C from tert-butyl (6bR,10aS)-5-bromo-1,2,6b,9,10,10a-hexahydro[1,4]oxazino[2,3,4-hi]pyrido[4,3-b]indole-8(7H)-carboxylate (0.20 g, 0.50 mmol), 4-methoxy-2-methylphenyl boronic acid (0.17 g, 1.0 mmol), Pd(PPh3)2Cl2 (17 mg, 0.025 mmol), Na2CO3 (2.0 M, 1.0 mL, 2.0 mmol) as a white foam. MS (ESI): 437 (base, M+H).
