To a stirred solution of tert-butyl 3-[3-(1-azidoethyl)-5-chloro-6-fluoro-2-methoxyphenyl]azetidine-1-carboxylate (0.084 g, 0.22 mmol) in THF (1 mL)/water (0.2 mL) was added 1.0 M trimethylphosphine in THF (0.33 mL, 0.33 mmol) at room temperature and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 hours. The reaction mixture was diluted with water and extracted with EtOAc. The combined organic layers were dried over MgSO4 and concentrated to give the desired product to be used in the next step without further purification.
