4.0 M HCl in dioxane (2.0 mL, 8 mmol) was added to a solution of tert-butyl 4-[3-chloro-6-methoxy-2-methyl-5-(1-{[9-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl)-9H-purin-6-yl]amino}ethyl)phenyl]piperidine-1-carboxylate (250 mg, 0.43 mmol) in methylene chloride (1.0 mL, 16 mmol) and the reaction was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour. The solvent was removed to provide the desired product as HCl salt which was used in the next step without further purification. LCMS calculated for C20H26ClN6O (M+H)+: m/z=401.2. found: =401.2.
