tert-Butyl[1-(5-chloro-2-methoxy-4-methyl-3-vinylphenyl)ethyl]carbamate (460 mg, 1.4 mmol, from Example 189, Step 1) was stirred in methylene chloride (4.6 mL) and m-chloroperbenzoic acid (2.1 g, 8.5 mmol) was added. The mixture was stirred overnight at room temperature. The suspension was filtered and the collected solids were washed with methylene chloride. The filtrates were evaporated to give the desired compound.
