Synthesis was conducted as in Synthesis Example 8 using 8.0 g (0.020 mol) of the bis(4-n-propylcyclohexyl-sulfonyl)methane prepared above, 6.1 g (0.030 mol) of p-toluenesulfonylazide, 73 g of dichloromethane and 3.1 ml (0.020 mol) of DBU. There was obtained 4.1 g of the desired bis(4-n-propylcyclohexylsulfonyl)diazomethane. The yield was 48%.
