Iron powder (455 mg, 8.14 mmol) was added to a solution of 2-nitro-N-quinoxalin-5-yl-benzenesulfonamide (Intermediate 243) (673 mg, 2.08 mmol) in AcOH (15 ml) and the mixture was heated at 80° C. for 2 h. After cooling, the mixture was concentrated in vacuo. The residue was diluted with EtOAc and the mixture was filtered through celite. The filtrate was washed with sat. NaHCO3 solution, dried (Na2SO4) and concentrated in vacuo to give the title compound (440 mg, 72%) which was used in the next step without further purification.
