To a solution of 4-(2-amino-3-mercaptophenylsulfonamido)benzoic acid (671 mg, 2.07 mmol) in THF (15 mL) was added cyanic bromide (439.1 mg, 4.14 mmol) at r.t. The reaction mixture was stirred at 80° C. for 8 h. The resulting mixture was then cooled, and partitioned between water and EtOAc. The organic phase was washed with brine, dried over anhy. Na2SO4 and concentrated in vacuo to afford the title compound (730 mg). LC-MS: m/z 348.7 (M+H)+
