A mixture of 4-(piperidin-4-yl)aniline hydrochloride (14.10 mmol, 3 g), 2-(4-(bromomethyl)phenyl)-1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoropropan-2-ol (14.10 mmol, 4.75 g) and potassium carbonate (42.3 mmol, 5.85 g) in acetonitrile was heated to 60° C. (heating block temperature) for 20 hours. The reaction was concentrated under reduced pressure and dichloromethane was added. The mixture was chromatographed on silica (eluting with a gradient of dichloromethane to ethyl acetate) to give the title compound (770 mg). MS (ESI) m/z 433.3 [M+H]+
