tert-Butyl 2-(7-hydroxy-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrrolo[1,2-a]indol-1-yl)acetate (0.150 g, 0.522 mmol), cesium carbonate (0.255 g, 0.783 mmol) and 4-(chloromethyl)-1,2-diethoxybenzene (0.168 g, 0.783 mmol) were taken up in DMA (2 mL) and heated to 60° C. for 16 h in a 20 mL sealed scintillation vial. The mixture was cooled down to room temperature and filtered by vacuum filtration through a glass fiber paper. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography to give the title compound (173.1 mg).
