Procedure

N-(Piperidin-4-yl)naphthalene-2-sulfonamide (50 mg, 0.17 moles) was dissolved in 10 mL DCM and to that di-isopropyl ethyl amine (0.1 mL, 0.34 moles) was added under nitrogen at 0° C. The reaction was allowed to stir for 10 min and phenoxy acetyl chloride (33 mg, 0.19 moles) was added at 0° C. and warmed room temperature and stirred for 3 h. After completion of the reaction as monitored by TLC, reaction was quenched with cold water and extracted with ethyl acetate (2×25 mL). The combined organic phase was washed with bicarbonate solution and brine and dried over sodium sulphate. The solvent was filtered and evaporated on rotavap to obtain a crude compound which was washed further with hexane to yield the title compound as a white solid.
