Triethyloxonium tetrafluoroborate (1.82 g, 9.57 mmol) is added to a mixture of N,N-diisopropylethylamine (1.92 mL, 11.0 mmol) and 1-((4-cyanophenyl)(2-hydroxy-6-oxo-4-(tri-fluoromethyl)cyclohex-1-enyl)methyl)-3-(3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)urea (intermediate 12, 2.38 g, 4.79 mmol) in dichloromethane (30 mL). The mixture is stirred at room temperature for 1 h and washed three times with water. The organic layer is dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated under reduced pressure. Yield: 1.66 g; ESI mass spectrum [M+H]+=525, Retention time HPLC: 1.25 min (V011_S01).
