A mixture of triethyl phosphate (400 μL, 428 mg, 2.35 mmol) and phosphorous pentoxide (216 mg, 1.52 mmol) is heated at 50° C. over night and dilutet with tert-butyl methyl ether (10 mL). Cyclohexane-1,3-dione (320 mg, 2.85 mmol), 4-bromo-2-(methylsulfonyl)benz-aldehyde (500 mg, 1.90 mmol) and 1-(3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)urea (388 mg, 1.90 mmol) are added, and the mixture is heated at reflux over night and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue is purified by reversed phase HPLC (Agilent ZORBAX™+SB-C18, gradient of acetonitrile in water, 0.15% formic acid). Yield: 80 mg; ESI mass spectrum [(79Br)-M+H]+=543, [(81Br)-M+H]+=545, Retention time HPLC: 1.06 min (Z017_S04).
