100 mg (0.8 mmol) of potassium carbonate and 0.1 ml (2 mmol) of methyl iodide are added to a solution of 250 mg (0.7 mmol) of methyl (S)-3-(4-hydroxybenzoylamino)-2-(4-methanesulphonylpiperazin-1-yl)propanoate in 10 ml of methyl ethyl ketone. The reaction medium is heated at 80° C. for 4 h. After cooling, it is filtered then concentrated. 260 mg (100%) of methyl (S)-2-(4-methanesulphonylpiperazin-1-yl)-3-(4-methoxybenzoylamino)-propanoate are obtained in the form of a white solid.
