Reaction Steps

0.9 g of Pd/C 10% is added to a solution, in 100 mL of ethanol, of 8.88 g (8.4 mmol) of the compound obtained in Step C, whilst bubbling through argon. The reaction mixture is placed under 1.2 bars of hydrogen at ambient temperature for 15 hours. The catalyst is filtered off and the solvent is evaporated off under reduced pressure to provide the title compound.
